Originally established in 2009, The Fight for Kids Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and a Vermont registered Domestic Non- profit Corporation. FKF is a solution-based organization committed to providing practical and effective problem solving, for issues that plague the physical and mental health of today’s youth.

These practices will create an environment that help young people develop a sense of purpose, boost self-esteem, encourage mental fortitude, and empower them to make healthy choices. This will benefit our younger community and the community at large.

FKF’s goal is to empower youth by allowing them to find their strength and resilience physically, mentally, and emotionally. Developing these skills gives our young people the confidence and strength to avoid negative peer pressure such as saying no to drugs and alcohol.

Though most young folks understand that substance abuse has negative consequences; not all recognize they have a choice when confronted with them. This is particularly prevalent in Chittenden County communities where cigarette, drug (ex. opioids, marijuana) and alcohol use continue to increase contributing to crime and lifelong health issues.

FKF aims to empower kids by offering them the tools to cope with life’s trials and build skills for successful futures. The impact of such experiences in a child’s life will more likely lead them to become adults who make healthy choices and contribute as positive members of the community and society as a whole.
